Music Educator and Mentor.

Renea Duelm is a classically trained pianist who has studied piano since the age of 6 years old. Since that time, Renea has been involved in various performances, competitions, and music ensembles, including church music. As a teenager, Renea started giving piano lessons, and felt a such a strong connection to the individuals she taught and the music that was shared.  This experience sparked the desire to pursue teaching.  She went on to study piano performance with an emphases on pedagogy at the James Madison University School of Music. While composers of the romantic period such as Chopin, Schubert, and Brahms are among her favorites, music from different styles and periods are used in lessons and input from students is strongly encouraged.  To reinforce the student's understanding of the music they play, theory and technique are an important aspect of studying in her studio.  Her goal is to instill both the enjoyment and discipline of music as a life-long enrichment, in a warm and encouraging environment.

Renea and her family have lived in Northern Virginia for 20 years.  When she is not at the piano, Renea enjoys spending time with her 4 daughters, cooking, reading, bonsai, and designing quilts.
